Spring Gathering, May 27-29
About 40 Western Shoshone and supporters attended the Spring Gathering at the Dann Ranch base camp from May 27-29. Attendees discussed issues facing the Western Shoshone, visited the Cortez Hills mine site and Horse Canyon, told stories, and heard from speakers from the Great Basin Resource Watch and the International Indian Treaty Council.
A raffle was held to benefit the WSDP and the Shoshone grandmothers, with many prizes ranging from a hand-made quilt to a ceramic decanter. Despite snow on the final day of the gathering, it was a successful event.
