United Nations Committee on Racial Discrimination (CERD) issues recommendations on US review.

Indigenous peoples concerns highlighted: Specific mention of Western Shoshone (para. 19) requiring U.S. to respond within a year to Western Shoshone Urgent Action and only 4 other areas (para 45). Recommendations also highlight: Protection of spiritual and cultural areas and (para 29), violence against Native women (para. 26), impacts of US transnationals/corporations on indigenous peoples outside of US borders (para 30), need to train US officials on human rights obligations (para 36) and need for US to review educational systems and textbooks to ensure accuracy of Native American culture and history (para 38).
